The school district began in 1882. Presently, the district covers an area of 237 square miles.

The Driscoll Public Library holds approximately 20,000 bound volumes. Each Summer the Library has a Summer Reading Program to encourage the area's children to read and learn. The Driscoll Public Library has computers available to the public for Internet access, EMail retrieval, word-processing, resume writing, spread-sheet and database use.
